Forest Products

The Port of Sheerness handles over 450,000 tonnes per year of high value forest products including pulp, packaging paper, printing paper, sheet material and lumber.

Medway Ports offers a total package of stevedoring, warehousing and distribution services. Deep-sea liner services are handled from North and South America. The major forest product trade areas of Scandinavia and the Baltic are also served.

Over 65,000 square metres of high quality warehousing are dedicated to the storage of forest products and 10 acres of outside storage space is available for lumber. Sheerness is a Free Zone, which allows for the suspension of VAT and customs duties.

All warehouses have wi-fi access, enabling real-time stock control. Systems can be tailored, for example to include barcode reading software, to meet specific customer requirements.
